Summary

I am a friendly disabled person living in my own flat in Central Worthing.  I have a good sense of humour and I enjoy a good chat. 

I am looking for someone to assist me in my home and to help with domestic tasks and to assist me at tea time with my meal. 

I will need some support to transfer from my wheelchair into my recliner. 

Hours/Shifts

Monday 12-4pm – domestic tasks

Sunday 4.30-6.30pm  

Other Requirements

Must be happy to work in a smoking environment 

All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check

Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.

Description

Nature of the work:

Supporting the employer to remain independent, to enable them to access the community and get out and about, providing companionship and assistance. 

Typical duties

Domestic -       

Support with preparing and eating food (usually heating a meal in the microwave)

Support with making and drinking hot/cold drinks

Tidying the kitchen after use

Cleaning the kitchen

Cleaning the bathroom

Vacuuming

Dusting

Assistance with laundry (hanging washing out)

Cleaning windows when required

Any other reasonable task

Personal Care:  

Support with eating

Occasional personal care

Any other reasonable task  

Person specification

Female* due to personal care needs

Able to tolerate the employer smoking in the work place

Respectful of the employer’s privacy and confidentiality

Reliable with good time-keeping

Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative

Hygienic, tidy minded and well organised

Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties

Patience and possess excellent interpersonal skills

Honest and cheerful

Creative

Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard

Legally permitted to work in the United Kingdom

Able to work at all times to high standards of Health & Safety

Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
