Job Title: Personal Assistant/Support Worker

Location:   Littlehampton         

Hourly rate:  £9 per hour and £10.00 per hour at weekends      

Reference: DP3935            

Hours/shifts: Up to 14 hours per week this would be Monday morning from 9 am, Wednesday evening from 5.30 pm, Alternating Saturdays available, Thursday morning from 9 am. Please apply if you can do any of the above hours.



  • I am looking for a social support worker
  • I am a 21 year old sociable man with Muscular Dystrophy
  • I need support with early morning and bedtime routines and accessing social activities
  • I enjoy playing console games and watching films
  • I require a driver who can use the employers car
  • Some domestic duties and personal care required




Other Requirements

  • Must be comfortable with dogs
  • Must be happy to work in a non-smoking environment
  • Must have a UK driving licence


All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check

Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.


Typical duties

Domestic -       

     Preparing/cooking meals. Clearing and tidying up afterwards if required.

Cleaning/tidying the bathroom

Making bed and changing it if necessary.

Laundry, washing or ironing clothes as required

Other reasonable domestic tasks as required



Personal Care: 

Assistance with bathing, drying, hair washing/ brushing as required

Assistance with dressing/undressing as required

Lifting with use of a hoist will be necessary

Assisting with toileting needs.

Administering medication as necessary

Helping with other aspects of personal care as required





Accompanying and assisting my son on social activities and any other social task required.

The successful applicant will be: 

Be cheerful and positive

Be reliable with good timekeeping

Be able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative

Be flexible- to occasionally cover other days in the week if the employer needs to get to an appointment.

Be honest and trustworthy

Be understanding of the clients disability and sensitive to his needs  

Be able to learn clients routines and learn to do the job well as the employer/client requires

Be able to respect privacy and confidentiality

Be fit and healthy enough to undertake the tasks required

Be legally permitted to work in the United Kingdom

     Able to work at all times to high standards of Health & Safety


Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
