Are you young minded, Bubbly and looking for a flexible part time job with a sociable young man?  Personal Assistant required, for my young adult son with Muscular Dystrophy. Tasks will include personal care and some domestic tasks and support with social activities. He is a 20 year old man who enjoys playing PlayStation and watching films. He also enjoys going to the cinema, going to the pub and bowling. He is a chatty fun loving man, who likes to chat about all subjects. He enjoys console games and board/ card games. He enjoys watching films at home and at the cinema.  


20 hours per week to be split between 2 pa’s 

Other Requirements

  • Must be comfortable with pets - dog
  • The home and garden is a non smoking environment and the p.a. is expected not to smoke while at work
  • Must have a UK driving licence- use of employers car- This is not essential, but desirable  
  • All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check
  • Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.



Nature of the work:

To support with early morning and bedtime routines, as well as going to college. 

Typical duties


  • Preparing/cooking meals. Clearing and tidying up afterwards if required.
  • Cleaning/tidying the bathroom 
  • Making bed and changing it if necessary.
  • Laundry, washing or ironing clothes as required
  • Other reasonable domestic tasks as required

Personal Care:  

  • Assistance with bathing, drying, hair washing/ brushing as required
  • Assistance with dressing/undressing as required
  • Lifting with use of a hoist will be necessary
  • Assisting with toileting needs. 
  • Administering medication necessary 
  • Helping with other aspects of personal care as required


  • Accompanying and assisting my son on social activities and accessing college.
  • Any other social task.

The successful applicant will:

  • Be able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
  • Be flexible- to occasionally cover other days in the week if the employer needs to get to an appointment.

  • Be able to learn clients routines and learn to do the job well as the employer/client requires
  • Be able to respect privacy and confidentiality
  • Be fit and healthy enough to undertake the tasks required
