Job Title: 2xCare worker
Location: Croydon- Waddon area 
Hourly rate: £9.50

Hours/shifts: 1.5hours in morning, 1 hour lunch time, 1 hour tea time, 45 minutes bedtime. 2 hours domestic work, 7days a week. Job share will be considered.

I require 2 carers to support me with all aspects of daily living. This will include washing, dressing, supporting me to eat meals, help to take medication and going out to the park and on the tram. There is also some domestic work, including making the beds, ironing, cleaning etc.

Typical duties

•Laundry, hanging out to dry, ironing, putting away
•Helping with laundry, washing and drying
•Loading and unloading the washing machine
•Loading and unloading tumble dryer/washing line
•Changing bed linen
•Bed making
•General cleaning
•Taking out rubbish
•General housework, including cleaning, dusting and vacuuming.
•Minor household maintenance eg changing light bulbs, taking down curtains for washing
•Preparing drinks, snacks and meals.
•Support with eating and drinking.

Personal Care: 
• Washing and bathing/showering – towelling dry/ drying hair
• Supervision and/or assistance with showering, drying, hair washing/ brushing as required
• Help getting into and out of bath/shower as required
• Support with shaving
• General hair/skin care
• Using the toilet
• Dressing and undressing/ helping with buttons and fastenings
• Getting into bed
• Assistance with getting out of bed using a hoist
• Help with dispensing tablets
• Assistance with medication i.e. helping to take tablets from foil/packets
• Getting in and out of the wheelchair ('transferring')
• Mealtimes e.g. cutting up food, assistance to eat and drink.

• Accompanying and assisting employer on shopping trips when required
• Accompany employer when accessing social and leisure activities, including trips to the park and on the tram.
• pushing the employer’s manual wheelchair when out.

Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
