Personalised Care: Peer Leadership Foundation Course

As the NHS moves towards a more personalised health and care system, it’s important for you to have a clear idea of what this new, more targeted approach to health and care means.

On this free online course, you’ll learn what personalised care is, and how it can benefit the whole population in England. You’ll also hear how it works in practice.

There has never been a more important time to help shape and influence how health and care is delivered in England.

Demand for health and care services has increased in recent years, more people are living with a long-term condition and we’re experiencing a pandemic.

The course is open to everyone, but is mainly aimed at people with long-term conditions and disabilities and their carers who want to improve their situation by gaining knowledge of personalised care.

The programme would also be of particular interest to anybody working in the health, social and voluntary sectors.

Vitamin D for Vulnerable Groups

During the autumn and winter months, the Government has advised everyone in the UK to take a supplement of vitamin D every day to support general health and in particular for bone and muscle health.

Many of us have been indoors more than usual this year and so might not have been making enough vitamin D from sunlight.

Guidance has been published for anyone who is clinically extremely vulnerable and has been offered a free supply of vitamin D supplements in England from January 2021.

EU Settlement Scheme Reminder

If your PA is an EU, EEA or Swiss citizen, they can apply to the EU Settlement Scheme to continue living and working in the UK after 30 June 2021. If their application is successful, they will get either settled or pre-settled status.

The EEA includes the EU countries and also Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.

They may be able to stay in the UK without applying - for example, if they are an Irish citizen or have indefinite leave to remain.

The EU Settlement Scheme is open now and they can apply now if they meet the criteria.

The deadline for applying is 30 June 2021.
