Poor awareness of the condition amongst medical professionals means that it can go undiagnosed for many years, with patients often being misdiagnosed with other conditions. To raise awareness, EDS UK are asking those with Ehlers-Danlos syndromes and hypermobility spectrum disorders this May to highlight how long it takes to get a diagnosis. It’s also Mental Health Awareness Week Mental health problems can affect anyone, any day of the year but this week is a great time to have a chat with a friend, family member or colleague and have a think about your own wellbeing too.
