The NHS has developed an exiting and innovative online personal development programme aimed at people who are committed to becoming Peer Leaders. What is a Peer Leader? A Peer Leader is a person with lived experience who is committed to working with health and social care providers. They use their own experiences to shape and influence how health and care delivered. Why become a Peer Leader? Becoming a Peer Leader gives you the knowledge to better manage your own and others health and wellbeing. As well as gaining confidence and new skills, you will have the opportunity to improve care for everyone. How long does the course take? Step One and Step Two are online courses which you can complete at your own pace. Step Three and Step Four are delivered through eight weekly online classes with other learners. How much does it cost? The course is completed free to join. At the end of each stage, you may choose to purchase a certificate for a small fee, but this is optional.
