We are looking for a Personal Assistant/ Friend who is joyful, responsible, nurturing, who’d like to share some girl time with our daughter; a fun, lively 28yr old, who loves everyone and everything. Our daughter has a great memory for information, she learns by doing. Everyone who meets her falls in love with her character. The successful applicant will have a zest for life and share similar interests including: the theatre, cinema, swimming club, national trust sites and live music.

She has Downs Syndrome with moderate learning difficulties; therefore, this impacts our daughter’s maturity. The successful applicant would have a good standard of spoken English so our daughter can communicate and understand what is being said.

There is no personal care involved in the role. However, its vital that our daughter is kept hydrated. She can’t stand for a prolonged period or walk long distances, so will use a manual wheelchair when required. However, she does not let her condition define her and instead lives life to the max.

This role would involve taking our daughter to community activities with support to keep her safe. We need someone who drives their own car. You will want to be fully active in making plans together and taking part in a wide variety of outings. You will have inspiring ideas for social activities to improve her communication skills, independence, confidence and help to build friendship groups among her peers. (Agreed expenses covered). Hopefully you’ll become a long term friend.
