Hours/shifts: 5 hours Monday and Tuesday during the day to support with accessing social activities, timings can be flexible and then 2 hours on Tuesday Evening to take him to karate

• I am looking for a Buddy/Personal Assistant to support my son who has autism and mild learning difficulties.
• He is sociable 19-year-old, who enjoys listening to music, sport and going out and about.
• The role will involve, keeping my son safe as he has very little awareness of danger, supporting him to access leisure and social activities and maybe going food shopping as he is wanting to gain some independence from the family.
• He will also need some prompting with his personal care needs
• Starting rate £12.00 per hour, increasing after probation period

Other Requirements
• Non-smoker preferred
• Must have a UK driving licence
• Must have access to own vehicle

Typical duties

Supervision, prompting and guidance to:
- prepare drinks, snacks and meals
- make bed and tidy bedroom

Personal Care:
Supervision, prompting and guidance to:
- shower, wash and dry
- assist with buttons and fastenings on clothing
- brush teeth
- ensure he is clean after using the toilet and washes hands
- take medication (when needed)

Escorting and assisting to:
- access the community for activities including Karate, food shopping, going bowling and to the cinema
promote safety in the community and near roads

The successful applicant will be:

Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
