Summary
• We are looking for a carer to work with our ten year old son in our home two weekdays and/ or in the weekend.
• He has learning difficulties after a brain injury, he is fully mobile and presents similar to ASD.
• He is partially verbal and has the ability to take himself to the toilet and eat with supervision.
• He is usually a very happy smiley and approachable boy and he likes people.
• He suffers from stomach aches and has a special diet which we cook for.
• Jacob is in school part of the week and is educated at home on Thursdays and Fridays.
• We need a carer to attend to his personal care, supervise meals, breaks and do housekeeping related to his needs such as cooking basic meals or washing up.
• The job is to provide assistance to his teacher at home to allow parents to work.
• We have a pet puppy and a smoke free tidy home.

Description
Typical duties
Domestic:
Housekeeping related to his need
Preparing drinks, snacks and meals.
Any other reasonable task
Personal Care: 
Attending to aspects of his personal care which include:
•  Washing and bathing– towelling dry/ drying hair
•  Using the toilet
•  Dressing and undressing/ helping with buttons and fastenings
•  Assistance with medication (training will be given with Mum)
•  Helping with other aspects of personal care as required, for example assisting employer to get changed at swimming pool/gym.
•  Mealtimes e.g. cutting up food, assistance to eat
Other reasonable tasks may be asked of you. My son will also need constant supervision
Social:   
Supervise when taking breaks from his home schooling
Any other reasonable task

Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
