Summary

• Support is needed to help look after my 9 year old son who has autism
• My son is very energetic and full of energy
• You will be supporting my son to join in with fun activities like; trampolining, funfair rides/amusements, bowling, swimming and eating out at McDonalds.
• My son loves riding on busses so all these activities could be accessed via public transport if you do not have your own vehicle.
- My son loves happy hardcore and drum and base music!
- I would really like to employ a PA who has experience and an understanding of working with a child who has autism.

Other Requirements
All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check
Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.

Description
Typical duties
Although most of the support will be out and about, occasionally there may need to be some support in the home. You would be required to provide domestic duties connected to the care and wellbeing of the child;
Changing bed linen
Bed making
Cleaning up after self when cooking or preparing meals.
Hoovering
Preparing drinks, snacks and meals.
Shopping
Tidying

Personal Care:
• Some support and prompting needed with toileting.
• Assistance with dressing/undressing e.g after using the bathroom or going swimming.

Social:
Supporting and caring for the child when accessing social and fun activities such as;
Bowling
Swimming
Parks
Trampolining
Playzone (Portsmouth)
Visiting the beach
Dinner in McDonald's
Amusement arcades/fun fairs such as Funland (Hayling Island) or Harbour Park (Littlehampton)

Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the child when out and about.

Person specification
The successful applicant will be:

• Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
• Patience and possess excellent interpersonal skills

• Legally permitted to work in the United Kingdom
• Able to work at all times to high standards of Health & Safety
Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
