Direct Payment Adviser

Salary: £22,958.38 (Pro rata)

Hours: 21 hours per week between 9am – 5pm. Days and times to be agreed

Type of contract: Permanent 

Location: The role is home based, with travel within East Sussex and surrounding areas and occasionally into West Sussex 

Reporting to: Head of Direct Payments & Personalisation

Overview

    To provide information, advice and support to all disabled people and their carers’, who choose to have a Direct Payment to arrange and pay for their own care and support needs. Our main role is to have guided conversations with them on how they choose to meet their assessed needs. We support with budgeting, recruiting Personal Care Assistants and provide them with the advice and tools required to become a good and effective employer. We provide both initial and long-term support, primarily over the telephone, email, online and home visits are also provided.

    Senior Supervisor

    Salary: £25,724.09 per annum

    Hours: 40 hours per week – various shifts including weekend work and evenings as required. 

    On call hours: Independent Lives Care Service operates an on call system between 6am and 12am. You will be required to be on call between those hours up to two weekends a month.

    Type of contract: Permanent 

    Location: Travel required around West Sussex

      Banking & Payroll Service Administrator

      Salary: £20,772.29 per annum

      Hours: 35 hours per week

      Type of contract: Permanent 

      Location: The role is office based in Worthing, West Sussex

      Reporting to: Payroll and Banking Team Leader

      Overview

        Manage and process payments on behalf of customers who employ someone using Direct Payments enabling them pay for the support they require to live independently. Additionally, the role is responsible for administering peer leader services, which involves liaising with peer leaders and making payments of expenses and producing remittance advices. Alongside banking support, you will manage and process all aspects of payroll administration when staff are employed by the Direct Payments customer to support their ability to live independently.

        Payroll Assistant

        Salary: £19,500 per annum (pro rata)

        Hours: Between 30 to 37.5 hours per week

        Type of contract: Permanent 

        Location: The role is office based in Worthing, West Sussex

        Reporting to: Payroll and Banking Team Leader

        The overall purpose of the role is to manage and process overall checking of bank statements for dedicated bank accounts and payroll administration in a timely and professional manner for customers who employ someone using Direct Payments.   

        Overview

        • Liaising with our customers to obtain all necessary information relating to hours worked and any other relevant information that may affect pay and arrangements for payment (normally this will be by telephone or e-mail).
        • Processing individual payroll to enable you to produce payslips and all appropriate Inland Revenue information.
        • Production of payroll summary information to enable customers to pay their employees.
        • To make all necessary arrangements for registering customers as employers with HMRC.
        • To maintain accurate records of customer’s payroll information employee’s details, recording of HMRC cheques on employer’s records etc.

        Support Service Team Leader

        Salary: £31,626 per annum

        Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Monday - Friday starting at 8am

        Type of contract: Permanent 

        Location: The role is office based in Worthing, with occasional travel required around West Sussex and Croydon

        Reporting to: Head of Direct Payments and Personalisation

        The overall purpose of the role is to oversee the day-to-day delivery of Independent Lives’ Information & Advice team who offer information, advice, support and training to Direct Payments employers and personal assistants by telephone. Ensuring that the service meets the highest quality standards. 

        Overview

        • Manage Direct Payments referral and allocation processes ensuring an efficient and inclusive service is delivered
        • Deliver effective line management and supervision of staff, including performance management and personal development
        • Liaise with disabled people, health & social care staff, and the general public within an engagement, support and promotional programme
        • Oversee data monitoring, processes, workflows and reporting

        This role will suit you if you are passionate about making systems and services work for the people who use the. Making them efficient, effective, inclusive, innovative and person centred.
