Job Title: Family Support Worker

Location:  Petersfield, Hampshire          

Hourly rate: £12.10 per hour

Hours/shifts: 3 hours a week Thursday 11am – 2pm these times can be flexible

Summary

  • I am Mum with 2 young children looking for support so I can remain being the wife and mum I want to be.
  • I have Cerebral palsy down my left hand side and I suffer with depression.
  • I have a love of charity shops and enjoy going out for a hot chocolate
  • You Must be willing to work another organisation, to check support is not duplicated

Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.

Description

Typical duties

Domestic -      

Support with Ironing

Support with Changing bed linen

Support with general housework, including cleaning, dusting and vacuuming.

Support with batch cooking meals.

Correspondence e.g. reading letters, help writing replies, form-filling, assisting with household paperwork

Any other reasonable task

Personal Care:  

 

Support with changing my daughter’s nappy and clothes on occasion

Any other reasonable task

 

Social:            

Accompanying and assisting employer on shopping trips when required

Accompanying employer to doctors/hospital appointments when required

Accompanying on trips out e.g. to the park, go and get ice cream

Accompanying to social meetings eg friends, family

Any other reasonable task

Person specification

The successful applicant will be: 

  • Female due to personal care needs
  • Respectful of the employer’s privacy and confidentiality
  • Reliable with good time-keeping
  • Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
  • Hygienic, tidy minded and well organised
  • Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
  • Patience and possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Honest and cheerful
  • Creative
  • Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
  • Legally permitted to work in the United Kingdom
  • Able to work at all times to high standards of Health & Safety

Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
