Summary

• I am seeking a local, friendly, reliable and committed Personal Care Assistant to join my current team to enable me to live independently in my home.
• I am an educated lady in my early fifties with MS and require support on a daily basis.
• Depending on the time of day, I will need you to assist me with personal care tasks (e.g. washing, dressing, using the bathroom, moving about my home) and to undertake domestic tasks (e.g. prepare light meals, use the washing machine, ironing, change cat litter).
• Experience is desirable, but guidance will be provided for the right person by the Personal Care Assistants who already help me

Hours/Shifts

Mondays 4-4.30pm

Saturday 9.30pm – 10pm

Sunday 6pm – 7pm

Ability to do additional hours to cover holiday & Sickness desirable


Requirement

Must be comfortable with pets
All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check
Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.

Typical Tasks will include

Personal Care:
Washing and bathing/showering – towelling dry/ drying hair
Supervision and/or assistance with showering, drying, hair washing/ brushing as required
Help getting into and out of bath/shower as required
General hair/skin care
Using the toilet
Dressing and undressing/ helping with buttons and fastenings
Getting into bed
Help with dispensing tablets
Assistance with medication i.e. helping to take tablets from foil/packets
Getting in and out of the wheelchair ('transferring')
Any other reasonable task

Domestic :
Laundry, hanging out to dry, ironing, putting away
Loading and unloading the washing machine & putting onto airier
Changing Cat Litter
Taking out rubbish
General housework, including cleaning, dusting and vacuuming.
Preparing Light meals and Drinks
Any other reasonable task

The successful applicant will be:

Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
