Job Title: Female carer
Location:   Lindfield West Sussex         
Hourly rate:   £14.00 per hour

Hours/shifts: 28 hours a month, 5 hours potentially 6 every Friday between the times of 9am-3pm and 2 hours every Saturday & Sunday between 9am – 11am. This role is flexible and job share would be considered. Extra hours will be available to cover sickness and holiday.

Description
Typical duties
Domestic -       
Laundry, hanging out to dry, ironing, putting away
Loading and unloading the washing machine
Loading and unloading tumble dryer/washing line
Changing bed linen
Bed making
General cleaning
General housework, including cleaning, dusting and
Preparing drinks, snacks and meals.
Tidying
Correspondence e.g. reading letters, help writing replies, form-filling, assisting with household paperwork
Making phone calls on my behalf when I am too unwell to do this
Making tea for the employer's guests
This is a list of tasks you may be required to do but would not be expected to do all of this per shift.
Personal Care:  
• Washing and bathing/showering – towelling dry/ drying hair
• Supervision and/or assistance with showering, drying, hair washing/ brushing as required
• Help getting into and out of bath/shower as required
• Assistance with applying cream
• General hair/skin care 
• Dressing and undressing/ helping with buttons and fastenings
• Getting into bed
• Help with dispensing tablets 
• Getting in and out of the wheelchair ('transferring')
• Physiotherapy exercises
This is a list of tasks you may be required to do but would not be expected to do all of this per shift.
Social:        
• Accompanying and assisting employer on shopping trips when required
• Accompanying employer to doctors/hospital appointments when required
• Accompanying when clothes-buying, including help with un/dressing and lifting clothes on/off the rails.
• The above duties will involve driving the employer in the employers car, lifting the folding wheelchair in/out of car, pushing the employer’s wheelchair when out.
• Whilst on duty at the employer’s home watching TV and assisting with craft activities
• Lifting the folding wheelchair in/out of car, pushing the employer’s manual wheelchair when out.

Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
