Hours/shifts: 4.5 hours a week, 1.5 hours Mon, Wed and Fri between the hours of 12pm – 3pm

• I am a positive and sociable lady looking for a Personal Assistant to support me with some personal care (when needed), domestic tasks in my home and with meal preparation.
• The role will also require you to accompany me when accessing the community, as I enjoy going out when I can and would like to get out more for activities and enjoyable things, to have a better quality of life. I enjoy social visits, going out for meals and accessing the community
• At home I enjoy watching telly and reading books.

Other Requirements

Typical duties

Assistance with laundry – un/loading washing machine, hanging clothes, folding, putting away.
Changing bed linen and bed making
General cleaning and housework – tidying, dusting, vacuuming,
Taking out rubbish
Preparing drinks, snacks and meals
Helping with shopping and putting things away
On occasion and if needed:
Correspondence e.g. reading letters, help writing replies, form-filling, assisting with household paperwork
Making phone calls on my behalf when I am too unwell to do this
Making tea for the employer's guests

Personal Care:
Only when needed:
Assistance to wash/shower/bath, dry, get dressed
Hair washing/ brushing
Help getting into and out of bath/shower as required
Assistance with applying cream
General hair/skin care
Assisting with dressing and undressing/ helping with buttons and fastenings
Getting in/out of bed (only when needed)
Getting in/out of the wheelchair (only when needed)
Helping with other aspects of personal care as required, for example assisting employer to get changed in swimming pool/gym.

Accompany and assist when accessing the community and trips out e.g.
to the garden centre, cinema, craft fairs, local visits, out shopping for fun, attending social events, the library etc.
Occasional longer journeys e.g. the beach.
The above duties will involve driving the employer in the PA’s car, lifting the folding wheelchair in/out of car, pushing the employer’s wheelchair when out.

Person specification
The successful applicant will be:
Female due to personal care needs
Non-smoker due medical reasons
Have a full UK driving licence
A car owner (or access to a vehicle)
Respectful of the employer’s privacy and confidentiality
Reliable with good time-keeping
Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
Hygienic, tidy minded and well organised
Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
Patience and possess excellent interpersonal skills
Honest and cheerful
Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
Legally permitted to work in the United Kingdom
Able to work at all times to high standards of Health & Safety
Fully vaccinated against COVID-19

Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
