Summary

• I am looking for a fun, outgoing Female Personal Assistant to support my daughter to get out and about in the community and to help her remain independent.
• I am looking for a pro-active person who can provide my daughter with lots of motivation and encouragement to carry out activities she enjoys, such as going to the gym, cinema and bowling.
• You will be supporting my daughter to carry out some light domestic duties as well as support with daily living tasks.
• There will be some personal care involved

Description
Typical duties

Domestic:
Changing bed linen
Correspondence e.g. help with budgeting
Helping Preparing drinks, snacks and meals.
Motivating to do some basic cleaning
Tidying
Any other reasonable task

Personal Care:
Help with washing and bathing/showering – towelling dry/ drying hair with hairdryer
Assistance with applying cream
General hair/skin care
Using the toilet
May require Dressing and undressing/ helping with buttons and fastenings
Assistance with getting out of bed using a hoist on occasions
Help with dispensing tablets
Assistance with medication i.e. helping to take tablets from foil/packets
Helping with other aspects of personal care as required, for example assisting employer to get showered and changed at swimming pool/gym.
Getting in and out of the wheelchair ('transferring') and using other equipment
Help with using walking stick on uneven surfaces and when crossing roads
Mealtimes e.g. cutting up food, assistance to eat
Physiotherapy exercises for lymphedema – encouragement to do these
Any other reasonable task

Social:
Accompany employer when accessing social and leisure activities, including to swimming lessons, and the gym
Accompanying employer to doctors/hospital appointments when required
Accompanying when clothes-buying, including help with un/dressing and lifting clothes on/off the rails.
Accompanying on trips out e.g. to the Gym and swimming
Driving and accompanying to social events such as:
Cinema
Bowling
Eating out
Accompanying on trips out e.g. to take photographs at the beach or in the woods or, visiting friends.
The above duties will involve driving the employer in the PA’s car, lifting the folding wheelchair in/out of car, pushing the employer’s wheelchair when out. Alternatively, I would use my walking stick.
Whilst on duty at the employer’s home watching TV and assisting with craft activities

Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
