I am lady with MS looking for a personal assistant to join my existing team to help me remain independent.  The role will involve getting me in and out of bed and the shower and some light housework. 


16 hours a week on a rota, Times to be discussed

Must be comfortable with pets

Must have a UK driving licence 


About the employer:

I am a Lady with Multiple Sclerosis who is hoisted at all shifts.

Nature of the work:

To join an existing team of Personal Assistants so I can remain independent in my own home 

Typical duties


  • General cleaning up after meals / snacks
  • Light housework, including dusting and vacuuming on occasions
  • Tidying 
  • Changing bed Linen
  • Bed making
  • Helping with laundry, washing and drying
  • Loading and unloading the washing machine and hanging out washing
  • Taking out rubbish
  • Preparing drinks, snacks and meals
  • Any other reasonable task

Personal Care:

  • I am hoisted at all shifts
  • Supervision and/or assistance with washing, showering, drying, 
  • Help getting into and out of Shower
  • Assistance to get on and off the toilet.
  • Dressing and undressing/ helping with buttons and fastenings
  • Getting into and out of bed 
  • Any other reasonable task 

Person specification

  • The successful applicant will be: 
  • Female* due to personal care needs  
  • Respectful of the employer’s privacy and confidentiality
  • Reliable with good time-keeping
  • Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
  • Hygienic, tidy minded and well organised
  • Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
  • Patience and possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Honest and cheerful
  • Creative
  • Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
  • Legally permitted to work in the United Kingdom
  • Able to work at all times to high standards of Health & Safety
  • Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
