Job Title: Female *Personal Assistant/Support Worker

Location:       Horsham  

Hourly rate: £9 per hour

Hours/shifts: 12  hours per week

Monday – Friday 07:15 -7:30 start until  9:15- 9:25

Plus 3 week day evenings days to be mutually agreed 18:30 – 19:30

 

Summary

  • PA/Support Worker required supporting me a father to my 4 year old son and 2 year old daughter who are both nonverbal and have a physical disability.
  • Duties include personal care and meal preparation as part of my children’s morning routine in getting them ready for school.
  • In addition I also need assistance three evenings a week with my children’s evening routine of bath-time and getting them ready for bed.

 

Employer is a smoker and has a cat.

Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.

Typical duties

Domestic -      

Preparing breakfast

Supervising breakfast and assisting where necessary

 

Personal Care: 

  • Washing and bathing/showering – toweling dry/ drying hair.
  • Help getting into and out of bath/shower as required.
  • Assistance with applying cream.
  • General hair/skin care.
  • Dressing and undressing/ helping with buttons and fastenings.
  • Mealtimes e.g. cutting up food, assistance to eat.
  • Nappy changing
  • Dressing and undressing/ helping with buttons and fastenings.
  • Assisting with teeth brushing

The successful applicant will be:

  • Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
  • Hygienic, tidy minded and well organised
  • Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
  • Patience and possess excellent interpersonal skills

  • Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
  • Legally permitted to work in the United Kingdom
  • Able to work at all times to high standards of Health & Safety

Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
