Work in social care Working as a Personal Assistant Female* Personal Assistant/Support Worker LR6530 Job Title: Female Personal Assistant/Support Worker(s)Location: CrawleyHourly rate: £9.30Reference: LR6530 Hours/shifts: 1.5 hours per week term time +10 hours per week for school holidays (14 weeks) Summary • I am looking for a kind and compassionate PA to engage with my active 5 year old daughter, who has autism and epilepsy in various activities in the community.• Also to act as an extra pair of hands on family days out, keeping her safe. • My daughter enjoys going to the park, swimming and soft play.• During term time my daughter will need collecting from school in Ifield, car driver preferred.Applications considered on a job share basis .Experience preferred particularly epilepsy awareness and medication administration but not essential as training will be given.All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service checkSuccessful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts. DescriptionTypical duties Domestic -Occasional food preparation Personal Care: • Assisting with toileting including nappy changing• Assisting with getting dressed eg for swimming• Administration of emergency epilepsy medication. (Training required) Social: • Collect my daughter from school during term time, engage her in an activity before returning her home.• Accompanying my daughter when accessing social and leisure activities, such as trips to the park and swimming. • The above duties will involve driving my daughter in the PAs car and taking and using her buggy. • Some duties may involve the use of public transport, taking and using a buggy.• Accompanying my family on days out to eg theme park or swimming, acting as an extra pair of hands. Person specificationThe successful applicant will be:• Female * due to personal care needs • Able to tolerate the employer smoking in the work place• Respectful of the employer’s privacy and confidentiality• Reliable with good time-keeping• Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative• Hygienic, tidy minded and well organised• Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties• Patience and possess excellent interpersonal skills• Honest and cheerful• Creative• Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard• Legally permitted to work in the United Kingdom• Able to work at all times to high standards of Health & SafetyPrevious experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
