Job Title: Support Worker

Hourly rate: £9.10

Hours/shifts:

5-8 hours per month for social activity day trips (Mondays, Tuesday and weekends are all possible) Final hours to be negotiated, and can provide more hours if mutually convenient.

Woman with MS who would like an open minded, kind & reliable PA.

  • GSOH, loves animals and has many interests including complimentary therapies & art.
  • Trips to art galleries and also to stop for a hot drink in a cafe.
  • Trips to get out and about to enable me to enjoy nature and its surroundings 

 

 

 

Other Requirements

  • Must have a UK driving licence
  • Must have access to own vehicle
  • "Exemption is claimed under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9."

All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check

Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.

Description

Typical duties

Social:   

  • Accompany employer when accessing social and leisure time, including trips to art galleries,and also to stop for a hot drink in a café .
  • Occasional longer journeys
  • Driving me to occasional social meetings eg friends, family
  • The above duties will involve driving the employer in the PA’s car, lifting the folding wheelchair in/out of car, pushing the employer’s wheelchair when out. 
  •  Pushing the employer’s manual wheelchair when out. 

Personal care- You will need to remind me to eat and ensure I take my medicines on time.

The successful applicant will be:

Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
