Work in social care Working as a Personal Assistant Female* Personal Care Assistant HCC676 Location: New Milton /Hourly rate: £9 per hour/Reference: HCC676 Summary • Personal Care Assistant required to provide care for a 14 years old girl at the family home with Cerebral Palsy (Rare Chromosome micro-deletion), Low Bone Density and Muscle Tone, Spinal Curvature, Epilepsy and Visual Impairment, who relies on her wheelchair to get around.• Very compliant and sweet natured gentle girl who likes to go at her own pace and enjoys the company of others to have a giggle when feeling well. Able to communicate through vocalising, showing emotions and gestures. • You will need to be kind, caring, and understanding as the routine can change depending on her seizure/vomiting activity.• Has a chatty big brother who’s nearly 17 with additional needs. Other Requirements "Exemption is claimed under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9." All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service checkSuccessful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts. Personal Care • Needs help with all personal care such as positioning, toileting/showering, dressing, brushing teeth and hair and will need assistance in the form of (ceiling) hoisting to move from wheelchair to bed to home chair etc. Ensuring her safety at all times. • Using an Enteral Flocare Infinity feeding pump for feed through her stomach Gastrostomy (mini balloon) button and eating orally.• Administer ‘slowly’ ready prepared evening medication and water with syringes through button. Domestic• Change bedding, clean bed, home chair and floor from spills/vomit if required.
