Summary


• A female carer is required to support a young woman with all aspects of personal care, social support and domestic support
• Support needed with hoists and physiotherapy stretches-training given.
• Support with showering
• Support with personal hygiene.

Must be comfortable with pets
UK driving licence preferable but not absolutely necessary
All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check
Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.

Description
To support me to live independently by assisting with day to day duties.

Typical duties

Domestic -
Laundry, hanging out to dry, ironing, putting away
Helping with laundry, washing and drying
Loading and unloading the washing machine
Loading and unloading tumble dryer/washing line
Changing bed linen
Bed making
General cleaning
Taking out rubbish
General housework, including cleaning, dusting and vacuuming.
Preparing drinks, snacks and meals.
Shopping-assisting customer while out and about
Tidying

Personal Care:
Washing and bathing/showering – towelling dry/ drying hair
Supervision and/or assistance with showering, drying, hair washing/ brushing as required
Help getting into and out of bath/shower as required
To be on call when employer takes bath
Assistance with applying cream
General hair/skin care
Nappie changing
Dressing and undressing/ helping with buttons and fastenings
Assistance with getting out of bed using a hoist
Help with dispensing tablets
Assistance with medication i.e. helping to take tablets from foil/packets
Getting in and out of the wheelchair ('transferring')-hoisting
Mealtimes e.g. cutting up food, assistance to eat
Physiotherapy exercises

Social:
Accompanying and assisting employer on shopping trips when required
Accompany employer when accessing social and leisure activities.

pushing the employer’s manual wheelchair when out.
