Summary

  • Kind, caring and flexible Female* Personal Assistant/ Support Worker required to support a lady and her mother
  • Required to assist with personal care
  • Required to assist with general household duties such as cleaning, support with meals and general tidying
  • Assisting with shopping and occasionally going on trips to London
  • Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to this role

Hours/Shifts

3-4 hrs a day, 7 days a week

Hours can be flexible and can be discussed at interview

UK driving licence preferable but not essential

Description

Typical duties

Domestic -    

  • Laundry, hanging out to dry, ironing, putting away
  • Loading and unloading the washing machine
  • Loading and unloading tumble dryer
  • Changing bed linen
  • Bed making
  • General cleaning
  • Taking out rubbish
  • General housework, including cleaning, dusting and vacuuming. 
  • Minor household maintenance eg changing light bulbs, taking down curtains for washing
  • Preparing drinks, snacks and meals.
  • Shopping
  • Posting letters
  • Tidying
  • Cleaning toilet
  • Cleaning commode

Personal Care:  

  • Washing and bathing/showering – towelling dry/ drying hair
  • Help getting into and out of bath/shower as required
  • Assistance with applying cream
  • General hair/skin care
  • Using the toilet 
  • Dressing and undressing/ helping with buttons and fastenings
  • Getting into bed
  • Assistance with medication i.e. helping to take tablets from foil/packets
  • Helping with other aspects of personal care as required, for example assisting employer to get changed at swimming pool/gym. 
  • Getting in and out of the wheelchair 
  • Mealtimes e.g. cutting up food, assistance to eat
  • Physiotherapy exercises 

Social:          

  • Accompanying and assisting employer on shopping trips when required
  • Accompany employer when accessing social and leisure activities, including to swimming lessons, the gym
  • Accompanying employer to doctors/hospital appointments when required
  • Accompanying when clothes-buying, including help with un/dressing and lifting clothes on/off the rails.
  • Occasional longer journeys to London
  • Support in the kitchen
