Hourly rate: £10.00 ph week days £11.00 at weekends

Hours/shifts: 27.5 hours per week ideally shared between 2 PAs
Mon-Sun morning shift 9:00 -10:30
Afternoon shifts
Monday 13:30-16:30,Tuesday 13:30 – 17:00, Wednesday 14:00 – 16:00,
Thursday 14:00 – 16:30, Friday 14:00 – 16:00, Saturday 13:00 – 17:00

• I am looking for a sociable and experienced Personal Assistant to support me with all aspects of daily life.
• Tasks will include personal care, domestic duties, companionship and accessing the community.

Description

Typical duties
Domestic - 
• Help with laundry. (Loading and unloading washer/dryer, hanging clothes & putting away).
• General house cleaning and hoovering etc.
• Putting out rubbish/recycling
• Making bed and changing bed linen.
• Help with shopping
• Preparing healthy meals and drinks


Personal Care: 
• Assistance/supervision with washing, showering, washing hair, and drying as required
• Assistance applying creams and medical skin patches
• Dressing and undressing
• Prompting medication and ensuring it is taken correctly
• Assistance with exercise as guided by physiotherapists
• Preparing healthy meals and drinks
• Assistance with exercise as guided by physiotherapists
• Monitoring and documenting physical and mental health on a daily basis


Social: 
• Companionship
• Help and support to access craft activities in the home
• Support in the garden
• Accompanying and supporting on social outings
• Accompanying employer to GP, Hospital, Optician appointments
• Help with shopping

Person specification
The successful applicant will be: 
• Female * due to personal care needs
• Experienced with mental and physical health difficulties. (Including ability to use and transport wheelchair)
• Respectful of the employer’s privacy and confidentiality
• Extremely reliable with good time keeping and to be patient and understanding
• Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
• Honest, cheerful and creative
• Healthy and active
• Happy to work in an environment with dogs
• A non -smoker or happy to refrain from smoking at work
• Able to work at all times in a person centred way and to high standards of health and safety
• Professional experience is preferred but may not be essential
• Able to provide at least two references from previous clients or workplace.
• Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
• Legally permitted to work in the United Kingdom
Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
