  • Personal Support Assistant
  • Employer uses crutches and wheelchair to assist with limited mobility
  • Assistance with basic personal care tasks
  • Managing and maintaining nutrition
  • Preparing drinks and snacks
  • Assist with laundry
  • Some basic housework required
  • Customer likes to be as independent as possible
  • Assist the employer and her 8 year old daughter to access the local community


Shift 1) Tues & Wed – 8.00-11.30am

Shift 2) Tues, Wed & Thurs – 4.00-5.00pm

Additional hours available during school holidays

***You will be required to drive the employer and her daughter in your own vehicle in return for a 30p per mile mileage payment.

Must have a UK driving licence

Access to own vehicle- That will fit in a child seat and a folding wheelchair

All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check

Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.


Nature of the work:

To assist the employer to remain as independent as possible within her own home and to safely access the local community (along with her daughter on occasions.) 

Typical duties

Domestic -  

  • Examples of tasks required include:
  • Laundry, hanging out to dry, putting away
  • Helping with laundry, washing and drying 
  • Changing bed linen
  • Bed making
  • General housework tasks
  • Taking out rubbish
  • General housework, including cleaning, dusting and vacuuming. 
  • Assisting to preparing drinks, snacks and meals.
  • Tidying
  • Load and unload dishwasher
  • Pushing wheelchair when accessing the community

Personal Care:  

  • Washing/Drying/brushing hair
  • Dressing and undressing/ helping with buttons and fastenings


  • Accompanying and assisting employer on shopping trips when required
  • Accompany employer when accessing social and leisure activities
  • Accompanying employer to doctors/hospital appointments when required
  • Accompanying when clothes-buying, including help with un/dressing and lifting clothes on/off the rails.
  • The above duties will involve the employer’s wheelchair when out.  

Person specification

The successful applicant will be: 

  • Female * due to personal care needs  
  • Respectful of the employer’s privacy and confidentiality
  • Reliable with confident
  • Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
  • Hygienic and well organised
  • Fit and healthy enough to undertake the required duties
  • Patience and possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Honest and cheerful
  • Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
  • Legally permitted to work in the United Kingdom
  • Able to work at all times to high standards of Health & Safety
  • Must be happy to fit in with a friendly, relaxed yet sometimes chaotic family environment.
  • Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
