I am looking for a full time PA (40 hour per week, Monday – Friday or a job share would be
considered) to join our small team on a 2:1 basis assisting and supporting my 24 year old daughter with profound and multiple learning difficulties, epilepsy and dysphasia. Primarily, the job will include attending various activities within the family home, the community and day centre to ensure she has an enjoyable, varied and stimulating day. Activities could include, but not limited to, trips to the farm, zoo, cafes, swimming, the gym, cooking, and art and music therapy. My daughter is usually a happy, bubbly young lady with a strong personality. She is non-verbal but has her own ways of communicating. She thrives on a lively environment and equally enjoys a bit of down time. She is a wheelchair user but we encourage weight bearing, assisted walking and standing transfers wherever possible. Full training will be provided in all aspects of the job.

• Non-smoker preferred or someone who is willing to refrain from smoking during work hours.
• Must have a UK driving licence desirable but not essential
• All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check
• Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.
• PA must have right to work in the UK
• Applicant must be honesty and trustworthy
• Be able to work own initiative

Typical duties

Domestic - 
General tidying throughout the day. Making sure the environment is clean, safe and tidy after activities

Personal Care: 
• Washing and bathing/showering – towelling dry/ drying hair
• Able to change incontinence pads
• Assistance with applying cream
• Dressing and undressing
• Getting in and out of the wheelchair ('transferring')
• Mealtimes e.g. preparing meals, cutting up food, assistance to eat
• Physiotherapy exercises
• Able to administer medication

• Accompany employer when accessing social and leisure activities farm, zoo, cafes, swimming, the gym, cooking, and art and music therapy
• Accompanying to the Day Centre
• My Daughter uses an attendant controlled power chair and travels in it in her adapted vehicle.

• Able to work at all times to high standards of Health & Safety
• Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
