Job Title: Female* Support Worker

Location:  Southwater          

Hourly rate: £11.20 per hour weekends , £9.20 weekdays

Hours/shifts: Tues, Thurs, Sat & Sun from 8am for 3 hours
2 hours in the afternoons
These hours are negotiable and job share is available, please apply if you can do any of these hours




  • I am a disabled Fun and friendly lady in early 50’s with Good sense of humour
  • I have Multiple Sclerosis and use a wheelchair full time.
  • I’m looking for an enthusiastic and reliable caring pa to support me in all aspects of personal life.
  • I am offering an enhanced rate for weekend support although I would be willing to offer additional hours for somebody able to commit to weekday afternoons,
  • Job share considered.
  • The role is to provide light domestic work, full support regarding personal care. Experience not necessary as full training will be given
  • Full training will be provided to the right applicant
  • Someone who can cook is required for the afternoon shifts

Must be comfortable with pets 

Must have a UK driving licence

Must have access to own vehicle         

All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check

Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.


Typical duties


Laundry, hanging out to dry, ironing, putting away

Helping with laundry, washing and drying

Loading and unloading the washing machine

Loading and unloading tumble dryer/washing line

Changing bed linen

Bed making

General cleaning

Taking out rubbish

General housework, including cleaning, dusting and vacuuming.

Minor household maintenance eg changing light bulbs, taking down curtains for washing

Preparing drinks, snacks and meals.



Personal Care:  

Washing and bathing/showering – towelling dry/ drying hair

Supervision and/or assistance with showering, drying, hair washing/ brushing as required

Using the toilet

Dressing and undressing/ helping with buttons and fastenings

Getting into bed

Help with dispensing tablets 

Assistance with medication i.e. helping to take tablets from foil/packets

Mealtimes e.g. cutting up food, assistance to eat

Person specification

The successful applicant will be: 

Female * due to personal care needs 

Respectful of the employer’s privacy and confidentiality

Reliable with good time-keeping

Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative

Hygienic, tidy minded and well organised

Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties

Patience and possess excellent interpersonal skills

Honest and cheerful


Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard

Legally permitted to work in the United Kingdom

Able to work at all times to high standards of Health & Safety

Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
