Summary


• 64 year old lady living with her husband in Worthing requires Support Workers/ Personal (Care) Assistants to enable her to live independently in her own home.
• She has cerebral palsy, osteoarthritis and leg ulcers which has resulted in pain and reduced mobility. She also has some visual impairment.
• She requires assistance with washing/dressing, toileting, getting up and going to bed.
• You would be required to use a hoist.
• Other duties will include meal preparation, preparing drinks and domestic tasks
• You must be friendly, reliable, patient and trustworthy.
• Must be comfortable with pets as the lady owns a cat.
• A job share between 2-3 PAs would be considered, please apply for the shifts you are able to cover.
• You will report directly to the lady who is the employer.


Hours/Shifts

1 hour am x 6 days
30 mins. x 6 days at lunchtimes
30 mins. x 6 days at tea time
30 mins. x 6 days evenings, approx. 9pm
Times to be arranged, every day apart from Friday needed.

Must be comfortable with pets
All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check
Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.

Typical Tasks will include

Domestic -
Any reasonable task

Personal Care:
To be on call when employer takes bath
Assistance with applying cream
General hair/skin care
Support getting in and out of bed
Assistance with medication -use of Epipen
Helping with other aspects of personal care as required, for example assisting employer to get changed at swimming pool/gym.

Social:
Accompanying and assisting employer on shopping
Accompany employer when accessing social and leisure activities, including to swimming .

The successful applicant will be:
Female due to personal care needs

Reliable with good time-keeping
Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
Hygienic, tidy minded and well organised
Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties-must be able to lift and fold wheelchair or frame.
Patience and possess excellent interpersonal skills
Honest, cheerful and kind
Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
Legally permitted to work in the United Kingdom
Able to work at all times to high standards of Health & Safety
Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to the roles.
