Job Title:       Female Support Workers/Personal Care Assistants

Hours/shifts:  9.30am-11.30am on Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday mornings, times can be negotiable.  Some evening hours may be available later on.  Can be a job share so please apply for whatever shifts you are available for. 
Summary
• 71 year old lady living with her son, requires support with living independently.
• She has difficulty with mobility and uses a manual wheelchair.
• Duties include support and assistance to get up, transferring, washing and dressing. 
• You will also be required to prepare breakfast and do some light housework where needed. 
• Experience of working with disabled people and providing care and support required.
• You should be friendly, reliable, trustworthy and flexible.

• Must be happy to work in a smoking environment

Description
Typical duties
Domestic -        
Cleaning/tidying of kitchen and bathroom after use
Loading/unloading dishwasher
Changing bed linen and making bed
Preparing breakfast, snacks, drinks
Personal Care:  
Supporting the lady to get in/out of bed
Assisting with washing
Assisting with dressing
Assisting with toileting/using the commode
 Person specification
The successful applicant will be: 
• Female * due to personal care needs 
• Respectful of the employer’s privacy and confidentiality
• Reliable with good time-keeping
• Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
• Hygienic and well organised
• Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
• Patient, friendly and flexible
• Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
• Legally permitted to work in the United Kingdom
• Able to work at all times to high standards of Health & Safety
• No pets in the household, although visitors sometimes bring them so must be comfortable with domestic animals
• Willing to work in a smoking environment
• Driver not essential, but ideally would be able to travel to work quickly and easily

Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
