Hours/shifts: 8 hours per week over 2 days. Days and times can be flexible.

• I am a 30 year old woman and a mature student with Attention Deficit Disorder, Asperger’s Syndrome and OCD, looking to employ a Personal development and support worker. I need support to organise myself, manage my life and create clear routines.
• I am looking for someone to support and develop my time management and organisational skills, helping me to plan day to day routines, assist me with general day to day tasks and getting out into the local community.
• Whilst day to day support is very important to me, planning my future and building up skills to help me become independent is also a crucial part of this role.
• Much of the support I will need will be to teach me to become more independent and able to carry out daily living skills. This would include learning to cook and developing good paperwork habits. I would also like someone to assist me in planning, organising and supporting me to look after my allotment and garden space.
• An ideal candidate would be someone highly organised with a methodical approach and proficient managerial skills so you have the ability to motivate me to achieve. It would be helpful for you to have experience in managing change, and supporting people to manage changes to their routines and plans; both changes that are planned and unexpected changes.

Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.

Typical duties
Domestic -
Using leaderships skills to help me establish clear, concise routines so I can become fully capable of tasks such as:
Support with planning and achieving daily and short-term objectives.
To be able to manage budgeting and dealing with written correspondence, when required.
To keep on top of email correspondence
To plan and shop for weekly needs
Develop cooking skills and prepare meals by developing clear, orderly, step by step routines.
Become independent with general household tasks by developing clear, concise step by step routines.
To become proficient in using all kitchen appliances
Planning outings and organising items, clothing and food needed
To support me to work towards my aspirations, by working with me to set realistic and achievable goals for my future

Support with my phobia of certain insects, by humanely removing them from the home or car.
To assist me to make and maintain friendships via social groups and internet sites
To support me in looking after my allotment
To assist me in other activities of choice
To assist me to obtain voluntary or paid employment
To help me with time management
To support me to attend appointments
To support me to work towards my aspirations, by working with to set realistic and achievable goals for my future

Other Tasks:
To help me focus on tasks and prompt me when I become distracted.
To support me to plan and structure personal care tasks into my day to day routines
To support me to establish a structured day time and night time routine
To support me to plan study time and carry out administrative tasks for my open university degree.

Person specification
The successful applicant will be:
Experience of supporting adults with Attention Deficit Disorder or who have Asperger’s Syndrome is preferred but not essential. It would be helpful for the candidate to be aware that these conditions cause me to be disorganised.
