Job Title: Male Personal Assistant.
Location: Croydon- Selhurst area
Hourly rate: £9.50

Hours/shifts:

2 hours a day Monday to Friday. Morning hour to be worked between 6.30-8.30am and evening between 5.30-7.30pm.

Holiday time – 2 hours a day from 8 or 9 am

This could be covered by more than one PA so please apply for any hours you are available.

 Times may change slightly as my son will be starting college in September.

Summary
• This role involves supporting my teenage, autistic son to become independent within the household whilst providing me with respite.
• The tasks that he needs support with include: tidying his room, help him with his homework and organising himself for school.
• My son will need to be prompted to do personal care.
• My son enjoys gaming, so someone who has a similar interest would be great.
• This is a rewarding role with all professional training provided.

• Must be comfortable with cats

Typical duties

Domestic - Prompt and supervise my son to:
Make his bed
Preparing drinks, snacks and meals.
Tidying my room
Prompt him to pick up my washing and put it in the laundry basket

Personal Care:
Prompt and supervise my son to:
Wash his hands
Get dressed and ready for the day or school
Encourage him to brush his teeth

Social:
Supervise my son to:
Support him to study and complete his homework
Keep him on track so in the mornings so he is ready for school
Supervise him to read
Play games with him if all other tasks have been completed

Person specification
The successful applicant will be:

• Male due to personal care needs

• Reliable with good time-keeping
• Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
• Hygienic, tidy minded and well organised
• Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
• Patience and possess excellent interpersonal skills
• Honest and cheerful
• Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
• Legally permitted to work in the United Kingdom
• Able to work at all times to high standards of Health & Safety
Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
