Social support assistant required to help a young disabled gentleman maintain his independence.

He is a non-speaker who communicates predominantly using an app on his iPad.

He enjoys playing on his Xbox and Wii and enjoys football, so if you have similar interests then please apply.

This role also includes accompanying him on days out to the cinema 


16 hours a week

Other Requirements

Must have a UK driving licence

Must have access to own vehicle

All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check

Successful applicants will be entitled to holiday pay and will be issued with employment contracts.

You will be reporting to the father of the young gentleman. 

Nature of the work:
To help a young wheelchair using gentleman maintain his independence 

Typical duties


  • Preparing drinks, snacks and meals.
  • Assisting with using the toilet 


  • Accompany employer when accessing social and leisure activities
  • Lifting the folding wheelchair in/out of car, pushing the employer’s manual wheelchair when out.

  • Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
