The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) wants to hear people’s views on fair pay agreements for adult social care workers, including Personal Assistants (PAs).
The standard consultation is now closed, but there is still time to take part in the Easy Read consultation, which remains open.
What is the consultation about?
DHSC is asking for views on how a fair pay agreement for adult social care workers should work. The responses will help shape how pay and conditions could be agreed in the future.
The Easy Read consultation asks for your views on:
- Who should be involved in discussions about pay, through a group called the Adult Social Care Negotiating Body
- How pay should be agreed, including the steps in the process
- Who and what should be included in a fair pay agreement
- How disagreements should be resolved
- How the agreement should be put into practice
- How the rules should be checked and followed
Why take part?
Fair pay is vital for recruiting and keeping skilled workers in adult social care. Whether you are a Personal Assistant, an employer, or someone who uses support, your experiences matter.
Taking part in the consultation is a chance to make sure future pay agreements are fair, clear, and reflect real-life experiences of social care.
The Easy Read consultation is open until 11:59pm on 6 March 2026.
