Work experience IL

At Independent Lives, we’re proud to be working with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to offer work experience placements for people who are looking to return to employment.

Our four-week placements provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals who may have been out of the job market for some time or who are building the confidence to apply for paid work. During their placement, participants have the opportunity to refresh existing skills, learn new ones, often in administration, and gain valuable experience of working as part of a team.

We also understand how important it is to find balance, so our placements are designed to help participants get used to managing a healthy work/life routine whilst developing their skills and confidence.

Together with the DWP, we’re helping people grow in confidence and take the next step on their journey into work.

“I completed four weeks of work experience with Independent Lives, where I worked with their CRM system and assisted with office administrative tasks, such as printing documents. Everyone in the office was welcoming and supportive. The team I worked with was especially friendly and helpful, always ready to assist whenever I needed guidance. Overall, I had a wonderful experience working here.”
