Your May 2020 Children and Young People newsletter West Sussex Parent Carer Forum Virtual Pop-Ups The West Sussex Parent Carer Forum have announced plans to run a series of Virtual Pop-Ups during the lockdown to ensure that all Parent Carers still have the opportunity to have access to their support network. The Virtual Pop-Ups run every Tuesday and Thursday from 15:30-16:30, and the Thursday Pop-Ups will always feature a special guest. You do not need to be a member of the Forum to join – all Parent Carers are welcome. The Pop-Ups are a space for Parent Carers to chat about current concerns and to allow the Forum’s team to signpost you to the Special Education Needs and Disability (SEND) services best tailored to the needs of you and your child. To find out more, please click here. To join the Virtual Pop-Ups, you will need to download and run the Zoom Application. For instructions on how to do this, please click here Your chance to provide feedback on COVID-19 Direct Payment Guidance The Government recently published guidance for Direct Payment recipients during the COVID-19 pandemic. The government is looking to improve and develop versions of this guidance going forward so it works well for people. The organisation Think Local, Action Personal (TLAP) are asking for your input on the guidance. Maybe you think some part needs to be amended, or it doesn’t answer all of your questions. If this is the case, please email TLAP at [email protected]. TLAP will collate all the responses and submit them to the Government for feedback. They are asking for all responses to be submitted by Sunday 10 May. To read the Direct Payment COVID-19 guidance in full, please click here.
