NHS Peer Leadership Development Programme

On Monday 26 October, the NHS is launching an exciting and innovative online personal development programme for people with lived experience who are committed to working collaboratively with the system to shape and influence how personalised care is delivered.

The programme is mainly aimed at people with long-term health conditions and disabilities who could benefit from personalised care.

The programme has three main aims:

  1. To tell people what personalised care is and how people in England can benefit
  2. To develop new Peer Leaders who can support the development of personalised care
  3. To develop Peer Leader Facilitators to provide leadership and support to Peer Leaders

We Won’t Be Forgotten campaign

The long-awaited Green Paper covering welfare and the Government’s National Disability Strategy is still due for release at some point this year.

In light of this and the impact that Coronavirus has had on disabled people, the disability charity Scope has launched its ‘we won’t be forgotten’ campaign.

The premise of the campaign is very simple. All you need to do is contact your MP about welfare.

Scope have written a draft email for people to use, which you can edit. Just enter your details and you’ll be able to email your MP. The whole process without editing takes less than a minute.
