Job Title: Personal and Social Care Assistant
Location:  Basingstoke, Hampshire

Hours/shifts: 4.30-7.30pm Wednesday and Thursday, plus some daytime shifts during school holidays (averaging one day per week but exact days to be agreed to flex around holidays etc). 
**I am happy to consider sharing the shifts between more than one person, so please still apply if you can only do some of these hours.

Summary
• I am looking for a Personal and Social Care Assistant to work at home with my happy and cheerful 8 year old daughter. 
• She is blind, hearing impaired has global developmental delay and is a wheelchair user. 
• She loves music, swimming, trampolining and anything involving food. 
• She enjoys being with people and likes people who are animated and engage her. 
• The after-school shifts would involve you giving her tea, toileting her, getting her ready for bed and a short activity such as a story. 
• The daytime school holidays shifts would involve more activity time at home and/or taking her out for a walk or to organised activities.
I am happy to consider sharing the shifts between more than one person.

Other Requirements
• Driving licence is preferred, but not essential, as the role involves going out in holidays
• You will need to speak clearly in English to my daughter
•  Enthusiasm and keenness to engage with my daughter
•  Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
•  Willingness to learn basic tactile sign language which we are just starting to use with my  daughter

Typical duties
Domestic
Preparing drinks, snacks and meals and clearing away afterwards
Tidying away after activities
Personal Care:
• Washing
• Using the toilet
• Dressing and undressing/ helping with buttons and fastenings
• Getting into bed
• Administering medication (medicine taken orally)
• Getting in and out of the wheelchair ('transferring')
• Mealtimes e.g. cutting up food, assistance to eat
• Physiotherapy exercises
Social:   
• Playing with my daughter at home, eg craft activities, taking her on the trampoline in the garden, playing music together, stories, action songs
• Taking my daughter out for walks during school holidays including pushing her manual wheelchair

Previous experience preferred.
