Hourly rate: £9.50 weekdays and £10.50 weekends

Hours/shifts:
Friday, alternate Saturday and Sunday mornings 08.30 am to 11.30am
Thursday and alternate Friday evenings 20.30 pm to 22.00pm. Some flexibility with the rota can be discussed with the right candidate

Summary
• A part time personal assistant position required to work with myself/client in my home. Living with limited mobility and a Wheelchair user
• The role will involve Personal Care, Light Domestic cleaning, Laundry and Occasional meal preparation
• Manual handling will be involved Shower chair, Patient Turner Stand, walking frame, ceiling hoist, electric wheelchair. Sliding sheet. Training will be given

Description
Typical duties

Domestic:
Laundry, hanging out to dry, ironing, putting away
Helping with laundry, washing and drying
Loading and unloading the washing machine
Loading and unloading tumble dryer/washing line
Changing bed linen
Bed making
General cleaning
Taking out rubbish
General housework, including cleaning, dusting and vacuuming.
Minor household maintenance eg changing light bulbs, taking down curtains for washing
Preparing drinks, snacks and meals.
Shopping
Tidying
Making tea for the employer's guests

Personal Care:
• Washing and bathing/showering – towelling dry/ drying hair
• Supervision and/or assistance with showering, drying, hair washing/ brushing as required
• Help getting into and out of bath/shower as required
• To be on call when employer takes bath
• Assistance with applying cream
• General hair/skin care
• Using the toilet
• Dressing and undressing/ helping with buttons and fastenings
• Getting into bed
• Assistance with getting out of bed using a hoist
• Help with dispensing tablets
• Assistance with medication i.e. helping to take tablets from foil/packets
• Getting in and out of the wheelchair ('transferring')
• Physiotherapy exercises

The successful applicant will be:

Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common-sense approach to these roles.
