Hourly rate: £15.00 per hour

Hours/shifts: 2 hours Sat & Sun Late afternoon/teatime – Timings are flexible
Extra hours available to cover sickness and holidays

Summary

• We are a friendly and sociable married couple, who are looking for a PA to support us with living independently in our own home
• Tasks will involve Personal Care, Preparing Meals and when covering other hours General domestic tasks including help with shopping and accessing the local community may be required

Other Requirements
All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check if required.
Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.

Description
Typical duties

Domestic:
Laundry, hanging out to dry, ironing, putting away
Changing bed linen
Bed making
General cleaning
Taking out rubbish – separating rubbish & recycling
Light housework which may include cleaning, dusting and vacuuming.
Minor household maintenance eg changing light bulbs, taking down curtains for washing occasionally.
Preparing drinks, snacks and meals.
Shopping
Tidying
Any other reasonable tasks

Personal Care:
Mealtimes e.g. cutting up food, assistance to eat
support sometimes required when transferring
Dressing/ Undressing ready for bed
Support/ Assistance with Oral hygiene
Any other reasonable tasks

Social:
Support with going swimming-must be happy to accompany in the pool
Accompanying and assisting employers on shopping trips when required
Accompany employers when accessing social and leisure activities, such as going to a restaurant for lunch
Accompanying employers to doctors/hospital appointments when required, transferring onto dentist’s chair
Accompanying and assisting employers on occasional longer journeys eg to visit family members

Person specification
The successful applicant will be:

Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
Hygienic, tidy minded and well organised
Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
Patience and possess excellent interpersonal skills
Honest and cheerful
Creative
Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
Legally permitted to work in the United Kingdom
Able to work at all times to high standards of Health & Safety

Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common-sense approach to these roles.
