Hourly rate: £10.50 hour / £12.00 per hour after 5PM + pension contributions

Hours/shifts: Tuesday tea-time for 1.5 hours, anytime between 4-6 PM
Wednesday tea-time for 1.5 hours, anytime between 4-6 PM
Thursday tea-time for 1.5 hours, anytime between 4-6 PM
Saturday 5 hour block shift anytime between 6AM-2PM
Saturday tea-time for 1.5 hours, anytime between 4-6 PM


I am looking for a PA to join my small team & me. I am an easy-going, good-humoured 61 year old man with a background in the arts who likes to chat about literature & life in general. I have MS and need someone (male or female) with the skills to be able to independently move & hoist me when needed, provide personal care, prepare simple meals & feed them to me. I have a ground floor flat in Central Worthing near the Town Centre & seafront, with loads of free parking.

Typical duties

Laundry, hanging out to dry, ironing, putting away
Helping with laundry, washing and drying
Loading and unloading the washing machine
Loading and unloading tumble dryer/washing line
Changing bed linen
Bed making
Taking out rubbish
General housework, including cleaning, dusting and vacuuming.
Preparing drinks, snacks and meals.
Support to read emails and documents

Personal Care: 
• Washing and bathing/showering – towelling dry/ drying hair
• Supervision and/or assistance with showering, drying, hair washing/ brushing as required
• Help getting into and out of shower as required
• To be on call when employer takes bath
• General hair/skin care
• Catheter care
• Dressing and undressing/ helping with buttons and fastenings
• Getting into bed
• Assistance with getting out of bed using a hoist
• Help with dispensing tablets
• Assistance with medication i.e. helping to take tablets from foil/packets
• Getting in and out of the wheelchair using a hoist
• Mealtimes e.g. cutting up food, assistance to eat
• Physiotherapy exercises

Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
