Hours/shifts: 5 hours every Saturday and 07-7:30 am – 17:30 every day during the school holidays (except for Christmas) – Job Share available, please apply if you can do any of the above shifts.

• We are a family looking for a Personal assistant, to support our 15 year old son who has a developmental delay.
• He loves music and spends a good deal of time playing on a Samsung tablet using YouTube. He also likes certain DVDs, TV programs and music CDs (which he will ask to be changed a lot). He LOVES trains and likes to be taken outside as much as possible
• The role will involve supporting him with all his needs and helping with suggestions and ideas for events during the day.

Other Requirements
• Must have a UK driving licence

Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.

Typical duties

Domestic :
General housework, Tidying up
Preparing drinks, snacks and meals.
Any other reasonable task

Personal Care: 
Washing and bathing/showering – towelling dry/ drying hair
Supervision and/or assistance with showering, drying, hair washing/ brushing as required
Help getting into and out of bath/shower as required
To be on call when employer takes bath
Assistance with applying cream
General hair/skin care
Using the toilet
Dressing and undressing/ helping with buttons and fastenings
Getting in and out of the wheelchair ('transferring')
Mealtimes e.g. cutting up food, assistance to eat
Any other reasonable tasks

Accompany and supporting my son when accessing social and leisure activities
Any other reasonable task

The successful applicant will be:

Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
