Summary:

We are looking for a friendly and reliable Personal Assistant to support our son. He is an intelligent, thoughtful and caring young man with a great sense of humour. He is reserved to begin with but soon opens up once he gets to know you. He is in his mid twenties and a full time wheelchair user who needs support with day to day living.

He enjoys playing the Xbox, music, You Tube and anything to do with cars. He also loves dogs (though we don’t have one) and his pet bearded dragon. His family and friends are also very important to him so he does like to see them as much as possible (or as much as is allowed currently).

You will be working with an existing team of PA’s to support my son socially and with Personal Care so he can remain as independent as possible and live his life to the full.

Although he is reliant on Carers, he is very capable of explaining what he wants and needs doing. We are looking for someone who will talk to him, to ask how he would like things done and work with him and his ideas surrounding his care.

Full training is provided with this role so if you are confident, willing to learn, patient and share some of our son’s interests this could be a great match. It would also be helpful for you to be a confident driver and willing to drive the family’s wheelchair adapted car but this is not essential.

• Must be comfortable with pets - I have a Bearded Dragon Lizard which lives in a vivarium
