Job Title: Personal Assistant

Hours/shifts: 4 hours a day, between 8am - 8pm weekends and school holidays
Summary
 
• I am looking for a PA for my disabled 6-year-old son who is on the Autism spectrum and has epilepsy. 
• He is a very happy boy who loves physical activities, especially trampolines and swimming, but also trips to the park, climbing frames, swings - so this is quite a physical role requiring someone engaging and energetic.
• He is pre-verbal, cannot use any communication aids consistently yet, and is fully incontinent
• A driver with access to own car is essential.

Description
Typical duties

 Personal Care: 
Help getting into and out of the buggy and car seat
Washing and showering
Applying cream
Changing incontinence pad
Help eating - needs his food cut up and help with using cutlery
 Social:   
Accessing social and leisure activities, such as swimming, playground, playgroups, trips and outings, Sea life and soft play
Keeping son safe when outdoors and safe when accessing the above
Driving son to holiday clubs
All these mean driving in the PA’s car and using the disability buggy - lifting it in and out of the car, folding and unfolding it, and pushing it around when outdoors

Previous experience with children essential, experience with SEN children is desirable but you can learn on the job and an extensive induction will be given
