Job Title: Personal Assistant

Hours/shifts: One/two afternoons after school per week (term time), one day per month at weekends and ad hoc holiday days by agreement/arrangement.

We are looking for a PA to support our 9 year old son to access and enjoy community and leisure activities.
He is a charming, giggly, hyperactive 9 year old with an infectious smile but is very wilful and always on the go so will need someone who can keep him occupied and keep an eye on him at all times. He is non-verbal, not yet toilet trained and has no sense of danger so needs a good hand hold! He can be physically demanding, especially during personal care, and 2 to 1 shifts are possible (joint applications welcome).
The ideal candidate will be patient, energetic, vigilant, enjoy cuddles, being outside and swimming. They will be full of ideas for activities as our son needs constant stimulation and things to do! Ideally near Horsham (where we live) but not essential. Driver with access to car (and appropriate insurance) required.

Other Requirements 

• Non-smoker preferred or someone who is willing to refrain from smoking during work hours.

Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.

Typical duties

Personal Care: 
• Assisting with personal care, including nappy changes
• Dressing and undressing / helping with buttons and fastenings
• Helping with other aspects of personal care as required, for example assisting to get changed at swimming pool/gym.
• Mealtimes e.g. cutting up food, assistance to eat

• Accompanying and supervising when accessing social and leisure activities, including to swimming etc.
• The above duties will involve driving our son in the PA’s car
