Job Title: Personal Assistant
Location: West Meads, Bognor Regis
Hourly rate: £10.50

Hours/shifts: 13.5 hours a week

Tues 9.00-15.00, Thurs 9.00- 14.30 & Fri 09.00-10.30. Some weekend work/bank holiday will be required by mutual agreement. Additional hours may become available. Your approach to the work schedule should be flexible enough to suit my socialisation requirements. Some flexible can be offered in this role.

Summary

I am a 48 year old male with primary progress MS and with your help I wish to maintain some degree of personal independence. I am partially sighted and have very limited mobility. I also have some memory and recall issues.
I generally have a cheerful outlook and take every day in my stride.
I am looking to employ a PA to support me with a range of domestic work, such as food preparation, shopping and cleaning and also to support and extend my social life.
I have secondary support from my parents.
Ultimately I hope we will form a mutual bond of trust and understanding.

Other Requirements
• Non-smoker preferred or someone who is willing to refrain from smoking during work hours.
• Must have a UK driving licence and be willing to drive me as required

All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check
Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.

Job Description
Typical duties – this is neither a comprehensive nor a restrictive list and duties may vary by mutual agreement as my condition progresses.

Domestic:
Household cleaning & tidying
Vacuuming & mopping floors
Kitchen, bathroom & toilet cleaning
Changing bed linen and remaking bed
Shopping & if required paying bills
Correspondence and making appointments

Personal Care:
Support with getting up
Support with washing and/or showering
Support with going to the toilet and using a catheter as required
Support with getting around at home
Food & drink preparation
Cut food up to assist my eating and swallowing
Support with cleaning teeth if required
Hair & Nail care
Support with getting dressed

Medication:

Support with emptying of bladder
Encourage to use foot massager
Support when chiropodist is in attendance
Assisting and encouraging with physiotherapy exercises.
Ordering and administering medication as required

Social:
Be willing and able to drive an automatic Mobility Scheme car
To encourage and support with the following:
- Attending support or focus groups.
- Taking part in leisure activities
- Socialising and meeting with others
- Contacting and meeting with family/friends
