Summary

• I am a 56 year old man who needs some help with day to day living. This will mainly involve accessing social and leisure activities and carrying out light domestic duties, with minimal personal care needed.
• I am a quiet person and enjoy seeing my friends and family. I am looking for a personal assistant who will get to know me and respond to my needs empathetically, according to how I am feeling. Some days I like to be quiet, other times I will want to get out.
• I am ideally looking for someone with previous experience.

Other Requirements 
• Must be happy to tolerate me smoking(I only smoke when I am out not in my home)
• Must have a UK driving licence
• Must have access to own vehicle, mileage will be paid for

Description
Typical duties

Domestic - 
Light house work duties
Washing up
Wipes down work surfaces
General clean of the bathroom and kitchen
Mopping the floors when required
Preparing drinks, snacks and sometimes a hot meal.

Personal Care: 
• Assistance with medication i.e. helping to take tablets from foil/packets
• Changing the cartridges on the diabetic pen, and disposing of the old ones in the appropriate container provided.
• Other reasonable personal care tasks if required

Social: 
• Accompanying and assisting me on shopping trips
• Accompanying me to doctors/hospital appointments if required
• Occasional leisure outings
• Accompanying me on trips out e.g. walks along the promenade
• Driving me to social meetings e.g. seeing friends and family
• The above duties will involve driving me in your car and may involve pushing me in my wheelchair.

The successful applicant will be: 
• Able to tolerate the employer smoking outdoors.
• Respectful of the employer’s privacy and confidentiality
• Reliable with good time-keeping
• Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
• Hygienic, tidy minded and well organised
• Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
• Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
• Honest, kind and cheerful
• Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
• Legally permitted to work in the United Kingdom
• Able to work at all times to high standards of Health & Safety
Previous experience preferred.
