Job Title: Personal Assistant/Support Worker

Hours/shifts: 4 hrs a week on either a Saturday or Sunday
Summary
• We are looking for a patient and reliable female to support our 9 year old daughter
• She is a loving, happy girl who loves to laugh and have fun
• She has a great love of books and also loves music, singing and dancing, as well as sand and water play.
• She has Autism, ADHD and Sensory Processing Disorder which can lead to challenging behaviour
• We are looking for that special person who can help encourage her to become more independent and to support with developing her skills
• There are 4 hours a week at present which can be flexible depending on your availability
Other Requirements

Description
We would like our daughter to be able to access things in the community to increase her confidence. For example, trips out to soft play, parks, swimming, eating out – and generally getting out of the house.
Whilst out and about, she will need assistance and encouragement with things like drinking and eating. She will also need assistance with toileting.

Typical duties
Personal Care:  
She will need assistance with toileting (i.e. – wiping and clothing help).
She will also need help with dressing and undressing, as appropriate.
She will need help with drinking, and eating (i.e. – cutting up food).
She does not know when she is thirsty or hungry, so needs reminding to drink and eat.
Social:     
 Increasing confidence and independence while out through activities such as swimming, soft play and meals out
 
Person specification
The successful applicant will be:

• Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
• Patience and possess excellent interpersonal skills

• Legally permitted to work in the United Kingdom
• Able to work at all times to high standards of Health & Safety
Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
