Hours/shifts: To cover holiday, sickness and excess hours. Work can be available most weeks.
• I am a lady who has Multiple Sclerosis and am looking for a kind and reliable Personal Assistant/ Support Worker to assist me in my home
• I enjoy socializing and Crafts such as making greeting cards
• I am looking for somebody who can help me to access social activities, with personal care, a small amount of domestic tasks and who can take my friendly dog for a walk
• Knowledge and experience of working with somebody who has MS would be preferred; however this is not essential as a kind and common sense approach to this role is most important
• Any required training will be provided
Other Requirements

• Must be comfortable with pets – friendly dog 
• Must be happy to work in a smoking environment 
• Must have a UK driving licence 
• Must have access to own vehicle

Typical duties
Domestic –
Loading and unloading the washing machine
Loading and unloading tumble dryer/washing line
Changing bed linen
Bed making
General cleaning
Taking out rubbish
Preparing drinks, snacks and meals.
Walking the dog
Making tea for the employer's guests  
Personal Care: 
Washing and bathing/showering – towelling dry/ drying hair
Supervision and/or assistance with showering, drying, hair washing/ brushing as required
General hair/skin care
Using the toilet
Dressing and undressing/ helping with buttons and fastenings
Getting out of bed
Getting in and out of the wheelchair ('transferring')
Mealtimes e.g. cutting up food, assistance to eat

Accompany employer when accessing social and leisure activities, make greetings cards, social room
The above duties will involve driving the employer in the PA’s car, lifting the folding wheelchair in/out of car, pushing the employer’s wheelchair when out. 
Whilst on duty at the employer’s home watching TV and assisting with craft activities
Lifting the folding wheelchair in/out of car, pushing the employer’s manual wheelchair when out.

The successful applicant will be:

• Able to tolerate the employer smoking in the work place

• Reliable with good time-keeping
• Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
• Hygienic, tidy minded and well organised
• Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
• Patience and possess excellent interpersonal skills
• Honest and cheerful
• Creative
• Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
• Legally permitted to work in the United Kingdom
• Able to work at all times to high standards of Health & Safety
Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
