To assist with all aspects of daily personal care, including transfers, washing & showering, cleaning teeth, dressing, toileting & personal hygiene, getting ready for bed and preparing & feeding breakfast, lunch and dinner. Full training will be provided and applications are encouraged from those who could do all hours or just some of the available shifts. Personal Care• Washing and bathing/showering – towelling dry/ drying hair• Help getting into and out of bath/shower as required• Assistance with applying cream• General hair/skin care• Using the toilet • Dressing and undressing• Assistance with getting out of bed using a hoist• Mealtimes e.g. cutting up food, assistance to eatPerson specificationThe successful applicant will be: The successful applicant will be someone of a kind patient & caring nature able to communicate and work alongside the client’s family members, ideally with previous caring experience in all areas including hoisting & transfers, showering and dressing on a hospital bed with slide sheets and feeding.• Respectful of the employer’s privacy and confidentiality• Reliable with good time-keeping• Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative• Hygienic, tidy minded and well organised• Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties• Patience and possess excellent interpersonal skills• Honest and cheerful• Creative• Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard• Legally permitted to work in the United Kingdom• Able to work at all times to high standards of Health & SafetyPrevious experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
