Job Title: Personal Assistant/Support Worker

Location:      Horsham   

Hourly rate: £9.50 per hour

Hours/shifts: 4 hours every other Saturday




  • I am a mother to my 6 year old son who has autism and has sensory and anxiety issues.  He prefers routine and  loves imaginative play with his toys, water play, swimming and going to large supermarkets.
  • I am looking for a kind and compassionate PA to engage my son in activities he enjoys in the home.
  • On occasion I would like the PA to accompany my family on local trips out eg the park acting as an extra pair of hands ensuring my son’s safety.
  • Duties will also include some personal care.
  • Experience of dealing with children with autism is essential.


Other :         

  • All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check
  • Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.

 Typical duties

 Personal Care: 

  • Nappy changing.
  • Ensure he and his environment are clean and hygienic eg  hand washing.
  • Helping my son to get dressed and undressed when needed eg when going swimming.
  • Giving pre prepared snacks.


  • Engage my son in activities he enjoys in the home.
  • Accompanying my son and keeping him safe when accessing social and leisure activities with the family, acting as an extra pair of hands.

Person specification

The successful applicant will be:

Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative

Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties

Patience and possess excellent interpersonal skills

Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard

Legally permitted to work in the United Kingdom

Able to work at all times to high standards of Health & Safety


Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
